This Is How Northport Does Italy

The Northport Chamber of Commerce is organizing a community journey through some of Italy's most breathtaking destinations. Bring friends, make new ones, come home with stories.

🇮🇹

The Destination

From the colorful cliffside villages of Cinque Terre to the rolling vineyards of Chianti, the galleries of Florence, and the tranquil shores of Lake Maggiore. This itinerary covers northern Italy's greatest hits.

🤝

The Community

This isn't just a trip, it's a shared experience with your neighbors, friends, and fellow Chamber members. Travel with people you know, meet people you'll never forget, and come home with friendships that last long after the gelato wears off.

🏡

Your Ride is Included

A Collette motorcoach picks everyone up from Northport and drives the whole group to the airport together. When you land back home, the coach is waiting again. No parking fees, no car services, no stress.

🚌

Your Trip Starts on Long Island.

Forget parking at the airport. Forget car services and airport shuttles. Through Collette's Hometown Pickup program, a private motorcoach picks everyone up from Northport and drives the whole group to the airport together. When you land back in New York nine days later, the coach is waiting to bring everyone home. It's one of those details that makes all the difference.

Departure from Long Island · Return to Long Island

Five Regions. One Unforgettable Trip.

From a palace on an island in the middle of a lake to the most colorful coastline in Europe. Every day brings something genuinely remarkable.

Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera

Italian Riviera

Cinque Terre

Five cliffside villages spilling down to the sea in brilliant color. Walk the coastal paths, eat fresh seafood, and understand why everyone is obsessed with this place.

Florence and the Duomo, Tuscany

Tuscany · Florence

Florence & the Duomo

The Renaissance, alive and in person. The Duomo. The Ponte Vecchio. The Uffizi. The most art per square mile of anywhere on earth, and the best gelato to recover after.

Lake Maggiore, northern Italy

Northern Italy

Lake Maggiore & Stresa

Turquoise water flanked by the Alps, elegant Belle Époque promenades, and some of the best lakeside dining you'll ever have. This is where the trip begins.

Isola Bella Palace and Gardens

Lake Maggiore · Borromean Islands

Isola Bella Palace & Gardens

A baroque palace and terraced gardens on a private island in the middle of the lake. You take a boat to get there. It looks exactly like it sounds.

Chianti Region vineyards, Tuscany

Tuscany · Chianti

Chianti Countryside & Villa Stay

Rolling hills, cypress trees, and a vineyard visit in the heart of Chianti. Plus a night at a genuine Tuscan villa: the kind of stay you describe to people for years.

Lucca, Tuscany

Tuscany · Lucca

Lucca & the Tuscan Hill Towns

A medieval walled city with Renaissance piazzas, towers you can climb, and streets made for wandering. Lucca is what Italy looks like before the tourists arrive.

Italy in Motion

Hear from real Collette travelers and see what it's like to experience Italy with a team that's done this hundreds of times.

Your 9 Days in Italy

June 3–12, 2027. Packed from Day 1. Click any day to see what's in store.

Your adventure starts at home. The Collette motorcoach picks up the group on Long Island and transfers everyone to the airport together. Board your overnight flight to Milan. Nine days of Italy are waiting on the other side.
Land in Milan, transfer north to the shores of Lake Maggiore. Check in to your hotel in Stresa, take your first walk along the promenade, and meet your fellow travelers over a welcome dinner as the Alps glow across the water. 🍽 Dinner Included
Board a boat to Isola Bella: a baroque palace and ten terraces of formal gardens built on a private island in the lake. One of the most surreal sights in Italy. Afternoon free to explore Stresa at your own pace. 🍽 Breakfast Included
Travel south through Parma, the city that gave the world its best ham and cheese. A stop here is a genuine taste of northern Italian food culture before you continue to the Ligurian coastline and settle in for the next two nights. 🍽 Breakfast & Dinner Included
The day everyone has been waiting for. Five medieval villages clinging to dramatic sea cliffs, connected by coastal paths and local trains. Wander through Vernazza, Manarola, and Monterosso, eat pesto where it was invented, and let the views do the talking. 🍽 Breakfast Included
The landscape changes as you cross into Tuscany: rolling hills, olive groves, cypress trees. Your first stop is Lucca, a perfectly preserved medieval city ringed by Renaissance walls wide enough to walk or bike on top. Narrow streets, quiet piazzas, excellent espresso. 🍽 Breakfast & Dinner Included
A full day in the birthplace of the Renaissance. Guided tour of the city: the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Ponte Vecchio, the leather market. Free time to find your own corner of the city, wander the Oltrarno, climb a tower, or just sit in a piazza and watch Italy go by. 🍽 Breakfast & Dinner Included
Spend the day in the heart of the Chianti wine region: a vineyard visit, a wine tasting, and the Tuscan countryside at its most cinematic. Tonight you stay at a Tuscan villa. The kind of place you've seen in movies and never thought you'd actually sleep in. 🍽 Breakfast & Dinner Included
The last morning. Transfer to the airport and board your flight home. The Collette motorcoach is waiting when you land to bring everyone back to Long Island. Your bags are heavier. Your camera roll is full. You're already thinking about next time. 🍽 Breakfast Included

Collette's Hometown Pickup program provides a private motorcoach that picks up the entire group from Long Island and drives everyone to the NYC area airport together. When the trip ends, the coach is waiting at the airport to bring everyone home. No parking fees, no car services, no stress. It's one of the best perks of traveling with Collette.

The Chamber has reserved 24 spots on this trip for the Northport community. That means you'll be traveling with people you know and people you'll meet, with more personal attention from your Collette Tour Manager and the kind of camaraderie that makes a trip genuinely special. You'll feel like you're on a trip with friends, because you will be.

This trip is rated "Active" and involves extended walking periods of 2–3 hours, some hills and uneven cobblestone terrain, and occasional stairs. You don't need to be an athlete, but comfortable walking shoes are essential. More details on daily activity levels will be covered at the presentation.

Solo travelers are absolutely welcome. A single supplement fee may apply. The Burr Travel team can walk you through the options. Many of the best group travel experiences happen when solo travelers discover they have more in common with their fellow travelers than they expected.
